Dear Sir or Madam, I was disturbed to see that you are still serving foie gras in your restaurant/selling foie gras in your shop. You may not be aware of the appalling animal cruelty involved in the production of foie gras, which entails force-feeding caged ducks and geese massive amounts of grain to make their livers swell to up to 10 times their natural size. This process can cause the birds to literally burst, choke to death or suffocate slowly. It is actually banned in the UK and many other EU countries because it contravenes animal welfare legislation. Fortunately, more and more people are becoming aware of this fact and rejecting the product as morally unacceptable. Public pressure has led restaurants and shops throughout the country to stop selling foie gras, and I would urge you to do the same. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully,
